Cinnamon Bun Scones

Fluffy scones that capture the cozy vibes of classic cinnamon buns, perfect for brunch or a sweet afternoon snack.

  • 1 cup Toasted Chopped Pecans (Optional)
  • 1/2 cup Firmly Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prep a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  4. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Combine wet ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk together.
  6. Bring the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
  7. Add the toasted pecans (or raisins) to the mixture.
  8. Shape the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut into wedges.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with a drizzle of maple glaze or a dollop of whipped cream cheese.
