Creamy Mushroom Chicken

A comforting dish featuring succulent chicken in a rich and creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

  • Chicken (boneless, skinless breasts or thighs)
  • Mushrooms (cremini or button mushrooms)
  • Heavy cream
  • Garlic (fresh, minced)
  • Thyme (fresh or dried)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by seasoning with salt and pepper and heating olive oil in a skillet.
  2. Cook the chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Sauté the mushrooms, cooking until browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Create the sauce by adding heavy cream and thyme, and simmering for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Combine the chicken with the sauce, allowing it to simmer together for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  7. Serve over rice, pasta, or alongside crusty bread.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or coconut cream, though it will change the flavor. Adding spinach or different herbs can enhance the recipe.
