Luscious Mango Mousse

A light and creamy mango mousse that is perfect for any occasion, bursting with the refreshing flavor of ripe mangoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gelatin: In a small bowl, mix the 2 tablespoons of gelatin with 1/4 cup of water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it swells.
  2. Blend the mangoes: Toss the diced mangoes into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust sweetness with sugar if desired.
  3. Prepare whipped cream: Whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  4. Dissolve the gelatin: Melt the bloomed gelatin in the microwave for about 15 seconds or on low heat until fully dissolved.
  5. Combine everything: In a large bowl, combine mango puree, dissolved gelatin, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Fold in the whipped cream gently into the mango mixture to maintain the airy texture.
  7. Chill: Pour the mousse into serving dishes and chill for at least 2 hours to set.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Top with fresh mango chunks, whipped cream, or mint leaves before serving.

Notes

For a tropical twist, substitute half of the heavy cream with coconut cream. You can also add a teaspoon of grated fresh ginger for a spicy kick.
