Easy Halloween Sugar Cookies

Delicious and fun sugar cookies perfect for Halloween celebrations, decorated with vibrant icing and sprinkles.

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • Food coloring (green, orange, purple, black)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until incorporated.
  5. Combine the flour mixture into the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Color the dough by dividing it and mixing in food coloring.
  7. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into Halloween shapes.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are slightly golden.
  10. Cool on a wire rack and decorate with icing and sprinkles.

Notes

For best results, chill your dough adequately. Feel free to experiment with different flavors and decorations.
