Apple Pie Cupcakes

A delightful twist on classic apple pie, these fluffy cupcakes are bursting with cinnamon-sugar goodness and topped with creamy frosting.

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup apple compote
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cupcake tin with liners.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Incorporate the dry ingredients and milk alternately into the butter-sugar mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Fill the cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cupcakes in the tin for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Make the frosting by beating the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Frost the cooled cupcakes and add any desired toppings.

Notes

These cupcakes can be frozen without frosting for up to three months. Frost after thawing for the best flavor.
