Banana Bread Brownies

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until smooth, leaving some small lumps for texture.
  3. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix everything until well combined.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients gently until no more flour streaks remain.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and stir them into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick around the 25-minute mark.
  9. Cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

These brownies taste even better the next day and can be served warm with ice cream or drizzled with chocolate sauce.
