Instructions

  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. Mash the bananas until smooth.
  4. Mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until creamy.
  5. Incorporate the eggs one at a time and add the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
  8. Fold in the mashed bananas.
  9. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  11. Prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy; stir in milk.
